Who we are
SCALE Foundation Limited is the data controller for www.scalefoundation.org.uk/. If you have any question about this policy or the data we hold, contact info@scalefoundation.org.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Analytics. With your consent, given via the cookie banner on your first visit, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to see which pages are visited, which documents are downloaded or links clicked, and aggregate visitor information (country, device type, referring site). This never tells us your name or email unless you separately give it to us.
- Subscribe for updates. If you enter your email address in the optional “Subscribe for updates” box, we add it to a mailing list hosted by Brevo (an EU-based provider) so we can send occasional updates about the SDL and the Foundation’s work. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Feedback forms. The optional feedback box on the TTO Resources and Spinout Resources pages sends us your comment, and your email address if you choose to give one, so we can read it and, where possible, reply. The email field is entirely optional.
- Membership area. Once built, we’ll hold the account details (name, email, organisation, membership tier) needed to run your login and give you access to member content.
Our legal basis for using it
Consent, for analytics cookies and the subscribe box. Legitimate interest, for reading and responding to feedback you send us. Contract and legitimate interest, for running the Membership area.
Who we share it with
Google (Analytics), WPConsent (records your cookie consent choice), Brevo (mailing list), and our WordPress hosting provider. Each are processing data on our behalf, under their own agreements with us. We don’t sell or trade your data.
International transfers
Some providers we use (e.g. Google) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, they rely on the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum or an equivalent recognised safeguard.
How long we keep it
Analytics data for as long as Google Analytics’ standard retention settings allow; mailing list data until you unsubscribe; feedback submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond and keep a record.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask to see, correct, delete, or export the data we hold on you, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. Contact analytics@scalefoundation.org.uk to exercise any of these. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children
This site isn’t directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
